About Airflow Measurement
In order to satisfy the objective of air flow measurement, it is required to use a suitable flowmeters. A Laminar Flowmeter with low pressure drop is a suitable flowmeter to measure the intake air flow to internal combustion engines or blowers and vacuum pumps. A Sonic Nozzle is a suitable flowmeter to control the air flow rate without any aged change. Sokken provides a series of Laminar Flowmeters, Sonic Nozzles and applied products of them.

Laminar flowmeter is a flowmeter with linear relationship between the volumetric air flow rate and its differential pressure. The differential pressure in rated flow rate is quite low so it doesn’t affect the characteristics for any test parts. Also the combination of LFEs and LFC-300 does produce no square root errors under the pulsation flow like orifices or round nozzles because of its linear pressure drop characteristics.
Model LFC-300 is a dedicated air flow calculator for Sokken’s LFE series of laminar flowmeters. Either the volumetric/Mass flow rate can be measured by only to connect to a laminar flowmeter.
The accuracy of flow rates in +/-1%FS are achieved by using pressure transducers with high accuracy and long term stability.
The flowmeter is a Venturi-tube flowmeter to be able to measure direct raw exhaust gas from vehicles. The flowmeter provide a wide range of flow rate using a variable throat area Venturi-tube.
